Pastor Karol Van Wulfen accepted a call to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in January 2004.  She was ordained in 2000, after studying at Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Rutgers University (M.S.W.), and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (S.T.M.).

Pastor Karol grew up in Michigan, and met her husband, Matt, in Staten Island in 1993 while they were both working for a non-profit agency, serving people through services such as a soup kitchen, shelters, and HIV/AIDS care.  They have been happily married since 1998. Their favorite activity is bicycling – it’s a great way to see the world!

St. Luke’s shares resources, including some of Pastor Karol’s time, with First Lutheran Church in Stewartsville, for the strengthening of both congregations. She also enjoys being a member of the steering committee for Hope in the Hills of Warren, and planning local ecumenical events with the Washington area ministerium.
