Pastor Karol Van Wulfen has been serving at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church since January 2004.  She was ordained in 2000, after studying at Princeton Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Rutgers University (M.S.W.), and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (S.T.M.). 

Although she grew up in Michigan, Pastor Karol and her husband, Matt, met in 1993 while both working for a non-profit agency on Staten Island serving people through services such as a soup kitchen, shelters, and HIV/AIDS care.  They have been happily married since 1998. Their favorite activity is to spend time bicycling – it’s a great way to see the world!

St. Luke’s shares resources, including some of Pastor Karol’s time, with our sister church, First Lutheran in Stewartsville, for the strengthening of both congregations. She also enjoys being a member of the steering committee for Hope in the Hills of Warren, and planning local ecumenical events with the Washington area ministerium.
