Souper Bowl of Caring

On Sunday February 7th millions of Americans will tune in to the Super Bowl football game. Traditionally, there are parties with abundant food, friendship and fellowship. At the same time, there will be people worrying about staying warm, finding shelter and a warm meal.  Please join us in demonstrating God’s love through the Souper Bowl of Caring.  We are collecting donations in our bin outside the back door, starting January 24th until February 7th.   All donations will go to our local Washington Food Pantry.

Wine and the Word

Join us for Wine and the Word via ZOOM on Sunday evenings from 7 - 8 pm. We are beginning a new study on January 24th for 9 weeks, to delve into the Fruit of the Spirit using the book Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit: Growing in Christlikeness by Christopher J.H. Wright. With the many challenges we face today, the Holy Spirit can guide us in the way to respond and live in a Christlike wayWe are confident that we all will come away transformed, revealing the light of Jesus to others. And in the spirit of love and kindness in this challenging season, we will be donating $20 to the Salvation Army in honor of each participant who commits to joining us for at least 6 of the 9 sessions. Please contact Anthony Capone at thecapone05@gmail.com for further details if you would like to participate.

Memorial Bricks for the Prayer Garden

Do you ever wish you could remember a loved one in

a special, quiet place?  If you wish, you can purchase a memorial brick for the Bob Zimmer Prayer Garden behind the church building!  It has recently undergone many improvements - if you have not ventured up there, please take a stroll up and look around.  Contact the church office at stlukeswashington@verizon.net for further information about placing an order for memorial bricks.

Pray with the whole church at noon everyday!

Almighty and  merciful God, you are the only source of health and healing; you alone can bring calmness and peace.  Grant to us, your children, an awareness of your presence and a strong confidence in you.  In our pain, our weariness, and our anxiety, surround us with your care, protect us by your loving might, and permit us once more to enjoy health and strength and peace; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  Amen.
